Ooer, I think I’ve come over all Germanic.
Must be something to do with the vast quantities of premium Kraut bier that were consumed on the evening of Thursday September 3rd at our fundraising music quiz night, or to give it it’s proper name, the Face the Music Charity Quiz 2009.
24 very competitive contestants from the four corners of the globe (and Haddington) gathered together to pit their wits against the devlishly cunning quizmeister, Mark Gormanski, a.k.a. the Nightfly. It was messy, but fun, but you just want to know who won.
So here are the results:
After a closely-fought battle, first prize and very tacky trophy went to Quiz Team Aguilera (a.k.a. the Scotsman).
Hot on their heels were Kerry Katona’s Dealers (a.k.a. Hudson) and the third prize went to Let’s Get Quizzical (a.k.a. 60 Watt).
Oh and not forgetting the prize for best team name which might have also gone to Quiz Team Aguilera, had the judges not discovered theirs was the No. 1 quiz team name on Google.
So, after a hasty re-consultation, the coveted prize finally went to the Quizzee Rascals (a.k.a. Chalmers and Co.) who trekked in all the way from Haddington and went away mightily pleased with their equally tacky trophy).
And here’s to the biggest prizewinners of all, Alzheimer Scotland for whom a very respectable £380 was raised.
Thanks again to Hudson for providing the fab venue and a lot of help with setting up beforehand and cleaning up afterwards; Le Marche Francaise for giving us an extremely good deal on the catering; Mark “Nightfly” Gorman (shown above) for giving up his valuable time to both compile the quiz and MC the event and all the participants for making it a really good night and being exceptionally generous.
As the Four Seasons famously sang, “Oh what a night!”
